About the material
Understanding
handcrafted & specialty wallcoverings.
This category covers wallcoverings made largely by hand: hand-painted silks, hand-applied metal leaf, embroidered panels, textile wallcoverings and hand-marbled papers. Each is produced in shorter runs than standard wallpaper.
Specialty wallcoverings often need additional review before ordering — substrate, lighting, seam placement and edge detailing all factor into how the material will read on the wall. Lead times, roll sizes and installation requirements vary by manufacturer and product.
We assign experienced installers to specialty commissions and coordinate site conditions in advance. Specifications should be confirmed for the exact material selected.
