The Room · N° 03
The living room asks for durability without sacrifice. Grasscloth, hand-printed textures and quiet murals — materials that flatter furniture, absorb sound, and hold up to a decade of use.

Considerations
What to think through
before you choose.
- i.1
The furniture leads
In a room defined by upholstery and rugs, wallpaper reads as ground — quiet, textural, tonal. Choose the paper against the largest fabrics in the room, not in isolation.
- i.2
Sunlight over years
Grasscloth and silks can shift tone over time in strong direct sun. We can specify UV-stabilised alternates or line the drapes accordingly.
- i.3
Behind the sofa
The wall behind the sofa is rarely seen in full. Save the boldest patterns for a facing wall — over the fireplace, or opposite the entry.
- i.4
Sound
Textural papers — grasscloth, cork, felt — soften acoustics. Meaningful in rooms with hardwood floors, glass, and stone.
