The Room · N° 02
The dining room is the room to be dramatic. It is used briefly, at candlelit hours, and forgives — even flatters — deep grounds, large-scale patterns, and hand-painted murals.

Considerations
What to think through
before you choose.
- i.1
Room used at night
Dining rooms are usually experienced in low, warm light. Deep grounds — forest, aubergine, oxblood — that would feel heavy in daylight read jewel-like at candlelight.
- i.2
Around the wainscot
In panelled rooms we install above a chair rail. Pattern reads twice — once at full-height, once cropped by the millwork. It rewards planning.
- i.3
Mural placement
Panel-set murals should be planned around the primary sight line — usually the wall you face from the entry. We produce a scaled layout before ordering.
- i.4
Cleaning & wine
For families that use the room daily, we specify a wipeable Type-II vinyl printed from the mural artwork. Indistinguishable at reading distance.
